Free online nonograms

Nonograms are picture logic puzzles, also known as picross. The numbers beside and above the grid say how many filled squares sit together in each row and column, and the picture appears as you work them out. Here you can play them free in your browser.

Choose a size below. Each one is a different kind of puzzle, not just a bigger grid: a 5×5 is over in moments and teaches the rules, while a 25×25 is a long, detailed picture that you can leave and come back to.

Pick a size

  • 5×5 nonogramsThe smallest board. Learn the rules or hand it to a beginner.
  • 10×10 nonogramsThe everyday size, with one guide line down the middle.
  • 15×15 nonogramsThe classic size: three blocks of five on each side.
  • 20×20 nonogramsA detailed picture and a proper session, with four blocks of five.
  • 25×25 nonogramsThe marathon: 625 squares, saved in your browser as you go.

Four difficulties at every size

Each size comes in easy, medium, hard and expert. Easy, medium and hard boards can be finished by reasoning about one row or column at a time. Expert boards also ask for lookahead, where you test a square and follow the consequences. The difficulty buttons are on every size page.
